Today (10.04.2023) the Minister of Education Mr. Susil Premajayantha announced the 2022 O/L exam date. Accordingly, the 2022 (2023) GCE O/L exam has been prepared to be held from May 29 to June 8, 2023. Below we have given the relevant press release issued by the Department of Examination.
Education Minister Susil Premajayantha had earlier informed the exact date of the 2022/2023 O/L examination. He said that further postponement of the examination is not possible. Therefore, the 2022/2023 O/L Exam Date 2022(2023) O/L Exam Postponed to 29th May 2023. The GCE O/L exam will be held from 29 May to 08 June 2023. (New Update from 11.04.2023)

How to get the 2023 O/L exam application?
There are two types of applicants applying for the 2022/2023 Ordinary Level Examination. One part of this is school applicants. Also, the other group is external applicants. A few days ago, applications for the school applicants had been issued to the respective schools. They are sent to the examination department by filling in the details of the respective students by the principal and section head teachers of the respective school.
The online application has been released for the other applicants are external applicants. A separate section has been established on the Examination Department website to fill out this online application. Accordingly, any applicant can apply for the 2023 GCE O/L examination through that section.
The examination department has given a specific time limit for completing these applications. You must complete your application online before the deadline. Only correctly completed applications will be received by the Examinations Department. Also, no applicant should apply more than once. Thus filling out the application online twice will cause your application to be invalid. Of that, you will not be able to appear for the exam.
