2021 O/L Postponed to February | New O/L Exam Date?
2021 O/L Postponed Monday 21st February 2022 to Thursday 03rd March.
The Minister of Education informed about the 2021 O/L at a Cabinet press conference held.
Education Minister GL Peiris has said that the 2021 GCE O / L examination will be postponed until February next year.
That is, the 2021 O/L Exam will be held from Monday 21st February 2022 to Thursday 03rd March.
Previously, the 2021 O/L examination was scheduled to be held in January 2022.
However, the Minister of Education states that this decision was taken considering the Covid epidemic situation in the country.
Speaking further the Minister of Education also spoke about the teachers’ protests. He said that the salary anomaly between teachers and principals would be rectified. He also said that the issue would be resolved and schools would be reopened in the first week of September.
He also said that teachers are being vaccinated all over the island. Accordingly, by now (26/07/2021) 77% of the teachers in the entire island have completed the vaccination.
The Minister of Education states that the reason for the 2021 O/L Postponed in this manner is considering the education of the children.
